Specialist events business focusing on timely and relevant content to government agenda is seeking a Head of Conference Production to deliver thought-provoking content for conferences, seminars and roundtables

This independent business organises politically neutral conferences, seminars and roundtables that provide a platform for discussion on key issues. Reporting to the director, the Head of Conference Production will pride themselves in delivering a current and timely events portfolio that helps shape the agenda for public policy.   

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ conference production experience in conferences and influence key stakeholders and thinkers to ensure event content is relevant and of real value to audiences.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities   

  • Assist in implementing Conference schedules across all sectors including identifying new markets and topic areas
  • Line manage the production team to ensure quality, viable, and innovative Conference programmes including speaker acquisition    
  • Negotiate partnerships with external bodies and develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage budgets associated with production
  • Train producers on best practice and help guide them through programmes
  • Liaise with the logistics, sponsorship sales, and marketing teams  

The Candidate

  • Educated to degree level with at least a 2:1 in a research-based subject, such as History, English, or Politics
  • Minimum 4 years’ conference production experience in conferences
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to identify key topics and evaluate commercially viable programmes
  • An excellent communicator both orally and written
  • A strong understanding of budget management
  • The ability to manage senior stakeholders while being a supportive and motivating team manager

- Knowledge of the public sector and UK policy environment would be advantageous
